GLASSWORK BY MARY - My exposure to fused glass started in 2006 when I visited my parents' birth place in Cefalu, Sicily. A shopkeeper was kind enough to share with me her love for this medium. Upon returning to my home in Bakersfield, California, I found a wonderful local glass shop where I began my personal journey into fused glass. After graduating from an 8" kiln to a 14" kiln, I couldn’t wait to start playing with larger molds. I now have a 26” kiln that allows me to create larger custom-made pieces ranging from platters to bowls to wall art. Fused glass is defined as using sheet glass in a kiln with temperatures in excess of 1,500 degrees Fahrenheit, and allowing proper temperatures to slowly allow the glass to bond together. Ceramic bisque molds are used to shape and mold the fused glass to create your desired shapes and designs. Fused glass is functional art that is food and dishwasher safe. We will ship to U.S. addresses only. All items are safely packaged and sent via Ground USPS.
